Providing Boys Lacrosse Officials for Section II Schools

Information on Becoming a Boy’s Lacrosse Official

Availability: Games start at 4:00 or 4:30 on weekdays.  Officials must be available to be at game site at least 20 minutes prior to start time.  CDLOA serves schools located throughout Section II.
Season: The boy’s lacrosse season runs from the end of March through early June.
Games: New officials must be at least 18 years old and will work Freshmen and JV games during their first several years.  New officials are typically paired with more experienced officials.  As you work more games and become more experienced, you will be assigned games to match your ability.
Game Fees: Freshmen and JV - $52 (2009)
Varsity - $75 (2009)   
Meetings:  CDLOA meets in Clifton Park six times during the season (every other Monday at 7:00 PM from March through May).  Meetings are used to address rules, situations, mechanics, and CDLOA business.
Dues: CDLOA dues are the equivalent of one JV game fee ($52).  Dues cover expenses such as state dues, insurance, rule books, materials, meeting room, etc.
New Member Classes: New members are required to attend six new member classes.  Classes are typically held on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 3 consecutive weeks.  Fee for new member class is $50.
Equipment: All officials are required to be properly equipped (shirt, hat, shorts, socks, flags, whistle, and timer).  Starter packages can be purchased online.
